 Toddler Time Story Hour

My friend "J" and his grandpa came again today.  This was our second week of Toddler Time. We missed our other two friends that came last week. We hope more friends join us next week!

Last week's theme was Animal Guessing Games
.

This week our theme was Bears, Bears Everywhere!
  • We read two books:
This was a fun story about three bear cubs that stray away from their Mama. We had fun finding the hidden animals that the cubs found.  We used directional words such as: up, under, in, over,  and down.  We even pretended to climb the wall like the cubs climbed the tree!
This book is a version of the old favorite "Goldilocks and the Three Bears".  It's always nice to hear other versions.  "J" was familiar with the story so he helped me out quite a bit when reading.

Since the word Bear begins with the letter B, we searched for all of the Bs in the book, wrote B on the dry erase board and practiced popping our lips to say the letter name B.

"J" retold the story on the flannel board after he sorted the pictures into their categories: bowls, chairs, beds & bears. He was really good at the sorting and awesome with the retelling. He knew the story in order and even changed his voice for the three different bears!
