All About Dogs was the theme for Preschool Pages storytime today! My friend from last week (we'll call him "J") was joined with a new friend "B"!  "J" brings his grandmother and "B" came with his great-grandmother.

It sure is more fun when we have friends listening and interacting with us! (Hint, hint) It's never too late to come join the fun if you are available!!!!

We focused on two books today about dogs.

Harry didn't like to take a bath so he hid the scrub brush. But after he had some fun getting dirty he had a hard time convincing his family that it was him.  "B" thought it was funny that Harry's bath at the end had so many bubbles that they were all over the bathroom floor.  "J" had fun finding Harry in the pictures. (the dirtier Harry got, the harder he was to find)

George is a dog that had trouble barking.  Each time his mom said "bark George" he came out with a different animal sound.  George's mom took him to the vet and the vet pulled all kinds of animals out of George.  At the end when George FINALLY barks something happens to start it all over again! This is called a CIRCLE BOOK.
After listening to the story the boys were able to retell the story with me by manipulating the characters on the felt board.  The fun thing about acting out a circle book is we didn't have to worry about which order the animals went in or out of George.

We worked on building vocabulary with the word, furiously. "B" even gave an example by acting it out! Nice job "B"!

Our rhymes today were:
I've Got a Dog
Five Little Dogs - "J" knew  what the vet said each time we came to it in our rhyme. Great participation "J"!   "B" thought it was fun to be the dogs jumping on the bed.

Songs today were:
This Old Man
My Dog Rags          I sure am glad the grandmas help me sing!!!!
